Rainbow

Rainbow

Rainbow, coloured tennis bracelet by MXHM

The magic of a rainbow cannot be explained – but it can be worn. Sapphires in every colour of the spectrum, set stone by stone so that each hue flows into the next. In Greek mythology the rainbow was the trail of Iris, messenger of the gods; in the Old Testament, the promise of better days. A bracelet that lifts the spirit – every day, with everything.

Colour Shades

Padparadscha

Padparadscha, coloured tennis bracelet by MXHM

Padparadscha – from the Sanskrit “Padma Raga”, the colour of the lotus blossom. The rarest of all sapphire hues, somewhere between pink and orange, here flowing across the whole band. These colours stand for intuition, clarity and kindness of heart. Few stones delight connoisseurs more – and few flatter rose gold so well.

Ocean Wave

Ocean Wave, coloured tennis bracelet by MXHM

From bright coastal shallows to the deep sea: this band travels through every blue of the ocean – the sea that gives our planet its colour. Deep blue calms, light blue clears the mind. And it is romantic, too: ever since Prince Charles gave Lady Diana a sapphire engagement ring in 1981, the blue sapphire has been the stone of grand emotions.

Fleur de Lavande

Fleur de Lavande, coloured tennis bracelet by MXHM

The lavender fields of Provence in bloom, laid around a wrist. Violet is one of nature's rarest colours – Pliny was already praising violet sapphires in antiquity. Feminine, romantic and entirely its own: a colour for people who never ask what everyone else is wearing.

Sunrise Red

Sunrise Red, coloured tennis bracelet by MXHM

A red that grows from soft pink into depth – like the rising sun. In Indian tradition the ruby is the sun's own stone: the heart of the solar system, “leader of the nine planets”. Pink sapphires and rubies united in one band – a stone for new beginnings, success, and for those who carry a family through life.

Flamingo

Flamingo, coloured tennis bracelet by MXHM

Pink like the plumage of the most cheerful of birds – with a brilliance that is exceptional among coloured stones. Grace Kelly loved pink sapphires in her floral jewellery. Pink is the colour of romantic love: there is hardly a finer Valentine's gift. Or simply because it's Tuesday.

Peacock

Peacock, coloured tennis bracelet by MXHM

Blue and green, together as naturally as only in a peacock's feathers. Blue stands for calm and balance, green for renewal and vitality – together they make a quiet, assured confidence. The peacock has always been the symbol of having the courage to show your true colours.

Tsavo Green

Tsavo Green, coloured tennis bracelet by MXHM

The green of the African savannah. Tsavorite was only discovered in 1967 by Scottish geologist Campbell Bridges in Tsavo Park – to this day the world's only source. Tiffany made it famous; in Feng Shui its green carries the energy of wood: growth and inner calm. Fresher than emerald, rarer than most people know.

Canary Yellow

Canary Yellow, coloured tennis bracelet by MXHM

Yellow like the little bird it is named after – and like the sun itself. Yellow sapphire stands for knowledge, clarity and prosperity; the largest known weighs 400 carats and is called the “Ceylon Sunflower”. Set in yellow gold, its glow is twice as warm. The classic stone for the 7th anniversary – and a piece of good cheer for the wrist.

Sunset Orange

Sunset Orange, coloured tennis bracelet by MXHM

Flamboyant, warm, full of energy – orange is the colour of the sunset and of those who never miss one. Orange sapphire is considered the stone of creative minds, linked to Mars, the planet of action. It goes with almost everything and is never boring. This rare colour is achieved through expert heat treatment.

For Connoisseurs

Shadow Moon

Shadow Moon, coloured tennis bracelet by MXHM

Only one transparent gemstone carries this luminous silvery grey: the spinel. Modern and pure at first glance, sparkling and elegant at the second – like moonlight on the sea. For centuries spinels were mistaken for rubies; the famous “Black Prince's Ruby” of the English Crown Jewels was only revealed to be a spinel in the 1930s. Also available: a variant in deep blue petrol.

Starlight Blue

Starlight Blue, coloured tennis bracelet by MXHM

No blue gemstone sparkles more: natural zircon refracts light almost like a diamond. This electrifying blue comes exclusively from Cambodia – the stones glitter like the starry sky above Angkor Wat. In ancient times zircon was considered a protective stone, and the Victorians loved it in grand sizes.

Chameleon

Chameleon, coloured tennis bracelet by MXHM

A bracelet that lives its life with you: greenish blue in daylight, violet to red in the evening under artificial or candle light. Colour-change garnets are among the rarest stones of all – their play of colour is comparable only to the finest alexandrite. Blackened prongs let the stones speak for themselves.

Champagne Pink

Champagne Pink, coloured tennis bracelet by MXHM

The finest Malaya garnets, with a “fire” that flashes with every movement like the bubbles in pink champagne. Malaya – from the Swahili word for “outsider”, because this rare hybrid garnet fits none of the classic categories. Discovered in 1969 and loved by connoisseurs ever since: cheerful, lively, and deeply grounded at the same time.

Mint Green

Mint Green, coloured tennis bracelet by MXHM

Mint: the freshest green nature has to give. These rare light-green tsavorites stand for calm, harmony and new beginnings – ancient Greek myths link garnets to the renewal of nature and to friendship. Set in yellow gold, they become pure lightness.

Emerald

Colombian Green

Colombian Green, coloured tennis bracelet by MXHM

Only Colombian emeralds have this incomparable green – so distinctive it is simply called “Colombian green”. For the ancient Egyptians the emerald was the symbol of life and fertility; in Ming-dynasty China, green was the colour of heaven. The “Crown of the Andes” at the Metropolitan Museum carries 450 of them. Here: five readings, from a fine band of 67 stones to the Grande at 7.32 carats.

Ruby

Burmese Red

Burmese Red, coloured tennis bracelet by MXHM

Ruby is the red all others are measured against: “Ratnaraj” – king of precious stones – in Sanskrit. The finest rubies have come from Myanmar, old Burma, for over 1,400 years; their deep red with a hint of purple is called “pigeon's blood”. Red stands for love, passion and success – this band carries all three. From classic white gold to striking Total Black.

Blue Sapphire

Royal Blue Velvet

Royal Blue Velvet, coloured tennis bracelet by MXHM

Velvety and deep – the blue that once seemed reserved for royalty. To this day, “royal blue” names the finest sapphire colour. The Stuart Sapphire sits in the British Imperial State Crown at the Tower of London; since antiquity the blue sapphire has been the stone of sincerity and loyalty. A classic that never expires.

Frequently asked questions

What does a coloured tennis bracelet cost?

At MXHM between €6,200 and €33,600, VAT included, depending on the stone, stone size and gold. Every price is shown in the catalogue right next to the piece.

Are the coloured tennis bracelets one of a kind?

Yes. Each bracelet exists once; the stones were put together for exactly this piece. If one has gone, I am glad to find a similar one for you.

Are the stones natural, and are they treated?

All stones are natural. Where treated at all, they are treated only minimally, and only where that is common practice in the gem trade. I choose the highest quality grade and match stones, colours and gradients with great care. The experience behind it shows in the bracelet.

How long until I have my bracelet?

Usually about two weeks. Length and clasp are agreed with you personally beforehand.

What length are the bracelets?

17.5 centimetres is standard; 16 and 18 centimetres are just as common. A bracelet can be shortened and lengthened without fuss.

Are the coloured bracelets available without a clasp?

Yes, each one as Infini on a titanium spring, slipped over the hand. It then takes four to five weeks, price on request.

Can I have a different colour?

Almost always. Tell me the colour you have in mind; I will source the stones and have the bracelet made for you.

Do I get a certificate?

On request, yes. A laboratory certificate costs around 200 to 300 euros per stone; for stones this small that is out of all proportion to the stone itself. So I am glad to issue a house certificate. If you still want a laboratory certificate, you will get one.

What does “Total Black” mean?

The white gold is black-rhodium plated. The setting recedes, and the colour of the stone stands alone.

Do you ship?

Yes, worldwide and free of charge.
