to a small circle
When a piece is finished, or a stone reaches me that is genuinely out of the ordinary, I do not show it publicly. I open it to a small circle, for a few days, through a personal link.
There is a practical reason for it. A single stone cannot be presented like a collection: it exists exactly once, and whoever wants it should see it before it is set. A small circle is the only form in which that works without waiting lists and without disappointments.

How it works
A line from me with a link that stays open for a few days. Behind it a single stone or a finished piece, with origin, certificate and price. Then it closes again — and you will not learn who else was there, just as no one learns about you.

The second private viewing was devoted to a single stone: a Santa Maria Africana aquamarine of 11.46 carats in a chalice-shaped cut, which I had come across on a gem journey to Geneva and which would not let me go.
What the guests saw: the stone in photographs and on film, on the hand and unset; its origin and where the colour name comes from – Santa Maria de Itabira in Minas Gerais, 1954, and “Africana” for the stones from Mozambique and Madagascar that carry the same colour; the independent certificate; four designs for how it might be set, or the option of taking it on its own; and the price. The link stayed open for a few days, then closed again.
